Casual Backpacker Jobs in Australia | Working Holiday Visa Holders

Working Holiday Around Australia

Holiday / January 6, 2019

Many young travellers who come to Australia have an, but they are understandably very insecure about their ability to find work in Australia.

We know the job situation at home (for me that was Europe), and it sure isn't easy to find work there.

You need experience, and a resume, and references, and you have to hunt around and apply and interview...

Now, I've already mentioned this on other pages: by far the best way to ovecome those worries is . That page tells you how.

On this page I want to talk a bit more about the different job opportunities you have in Australia, and especially in Outback Australia.

I want to make sure you don't get stuck in Sydney for the whole 12 months!

Because that's what happens to a lot of people... During the day they do some meaningless casual work in a boutique, a cafe, an office or call centre, and at night they spend their money in one of the many backpacker bars. 3, 6, 9 months later they have as much spending money as they arrived with, and they still haven't seen anything of Australia, or even stepped outside the backpacker circle at all.

City life ain't cheap, so beware of the tendency to get stuck there!

The problem that I see is that most people are not aware of the opportunities that exist outside the cities. And how would we. Coming from Europe the kind of work culture that exists in the cities in Australia is the only work culture we know.

Well, Australia is different, very different.

And finding work is easy, very easy.

Just leave the cities behind. Head north west. Get off your bum, see Australia, work AND travel! The work can be as much of an experience as the travel can be. You're travelling! For goodness sake do something DIFFERENT from what you'd do at home! And as a bonus you REALLY get to see this country. It's worth it.

And The Rest Of The World!

This option has the advantage that your travel expenses are tax deductible forever after! I love it...

Build Your Own Website

Thinking about having a travel blog? Why not make a proper travel website instead? It will earn you money before, during and after your trip!

The jobs I talk about above, I tried them all. I spent years of my life travelling Australia and the rest of the world, and drifting from job to job. It was a great life, but it does have its drawbacks.

Building a website doesn't. This site finally gave me the ultimate freedom that I had always been looking for.

Interested? You can read about my own experiences with this website on my page.

It's a long page, but if you are dreaming about escaping the 9 to 5 drudgery, working from home, having more time for travel, being your own boss and answering to nobody... then you should read it. .
