Camping Club Australia
If you own an RV and live in the Canberra region interested in joining our Club?
Not ready to join yet but would you like to find out more about us?
Upwards of 20 members are expected to be attending a meeting to form our first branch for RVers in the Canberra Region at 2pm this Saturday, 24 June 2017.
Our Club’s New South Wales membership support representative Lorraine will be holding a meeting at Exhibition Park, Cnr Flemington Road and Northbourne Ave, Mitchell, ACT. With so much interest, we have no doubt that we will shortly be announcing the formation of our 47th branch!
After the meeting at 4pm, members will gather for a Happy Hour and barbeque (BYO chairs, cutlery, drinks, and food).
Hervey Bay Caravan Park at Urangan is our ACC Park of the Month for June.
An owner-operated Park, Hervey Bay Caravan Park is a safe, secure, peaceful park with a friendly atmosphere situated on 7 acres.
Hervey Bay Caravan Park is a great base from which to explore the many tourist attractions in the Hervey Bay region. Owners Peter and Margy are happy to assist you with bookings and ticketing at the Park office for trips to Fraser island, Whale Watching Tours (July to November), Lady Elliott Island visits and scenic flights.
Back at the Park you will find a covered barbeque area, saltwater swimming pool, mini kiosk and cabins. Choose from powered or unpowered sites.
Displaying an ACC RV Stay Sign, Peter and Margy offer ACC members a 10% discount on advertised tariffs up to a maximum of per stay. This offer is not valid during Winter, the Christmas / New Year period or over Easter. Members must produce their membership card when booking. Pets are permitted.
Australian Caravan Club (ACC) members now have a further incentive to join new members into the Club, on top of the free fuel voucher for each new member recruited already on offer.
ACC Chairman Craig Humphrey is delighted to announce that our Club has a sponsor for our Target 500 Campaign.
Longstanding ACC supporter B.E.S.T. Water Filters has offered to donate seven water filters to be offered up as prizes in a State by State draw of all members of the ACC who have signed up new members to the Club. There will be one entry in the draw for the State in which a member lives, for each new member recruited.
“B.E.S.T. Water Filters has been one of our Club’s main supporters since our Club’s formation back in 2006, ” Mr Humphrey said. “This donation shows its ongoing commitment as a supporter of our Club and we, as a Club, are very thankful to them.”
B.E.S.T. Water Filters principal Colin Hopgood said that the business was pleased to be able to play its part in the further growth of the ACC.
“A B.E.S.T. RV Water Filter with SilverSafe® sanitises as you fill, so there is no need for any special tank treatments. It provides clean, safe water, wherever the road may take you!” Mr Hopgood said. “SilverSafe® is a process that ensures all water travels over a bed of silver and is installed before and after the filter medium.”
The seven B.E.S.T. Water Filter prizes will be distributed in State by State draws with one draw for each of the States of Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania, and one draw incorporating both New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory recruitments.
“By way of clarification, if a Queensland member signs up six new members between 1 May 2017 and 1 May 2018, they will receive six entries into the Queensland State draw. Likewise, if a Victorian member signs up ten new members during that period, they will receive ten entries into the Victorian State draw, ” said Mr Humphrey.
The State draws will all take place no later than 31 May 2018.
“Since the announcement of our Target 500 Campaign in March, through the efforts of our members and increased media presence, we have already seen a significant growth in our membership figures. Several members of our Club have already received a $25 fuel voucher for joining a new member and we look forward to posting out many more over the coming months, ” Mr Humphrey said.
Our ACC Lone Trekkers are planning yet another muster at Trangie in New South Wales Central West from 20 to 24 July 2017, following the major success of their Bordertown, South Australia muster last month.
The venue for the muster is the Trangie Caravan Park where park owners Andrew and Deb are lining up a pizza night, bush poet and a tour of the Cotton Gin. Trangie is shaping up to be another action packed ACC Lone Trekker Muster.
So if you are travelling solo, why not join the ACC today, then join our Lone Trekkers Special Interest Group, and share friendships and adventure with other solo RVers?
Our Freedom Camp for the Month of June is the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park at Tolga, Queensland. Tolga is just north of Atherton or just south of Mareeba. There is a large grassed camping area next to the War Memorial site.
Fully self-contained RVers are permitted to stay for 72 hours and they ask for a gold coin donation to assist with upkeep. Pets are permitted, but generators and open fires are not. There are flushing toilets and a dump point in nearby Atherton.
The camp is close to the Atherton Tablelands where there is so much to see.
The Australian Caravan Club (ACC) is delighted to welcome Southern Cross Parks to its member benefits programme.
Southern Cross Parks has joined 5 Parks into the programme. All Parks will display ACC window stickers.
