A BRISBANE cafe, Coffee Anthology, has been awarded the title of Australia’s best cafe by cafe review site Beanhunter.
Coffee Anthology, which opened in 2014, received a top score of 9.6 out of 10 in the Top Cafe in Australia Awards. Melbourne’s Proud Mary and Coffee Alchemy in Sydney took out second and third prize.
Owner Adam Wang says his cafe focuses mainly on coffee and a small range of light, healthy food.
Mr Wang told news.com.au his cafe’s daily rotating menu of beans is its main strength.
“We bring in beans from different roasters around the country, because most of our regular customers want to try something different, ” he said.

“We really encourage our customers to try and experience different coffees. We are all about exploring. We are not about saying ‘Oh this coffee is the best, you can only drink this one’.”
And unlike some fancy coffee places that refuse to serve skim milk, or don’t offer any dairy milks altogether, Coffee Anthology offers almond, soy and skim milk. But they don’t offer flavoured syrups.
“We are in this industry to provide good customer service. We don’t have the attitude that we need to be cool. We don’t tell you want to drink, ” he said.
