Accommodation / April 28, 2020

A stay in the city doesn’t have to be all bright lights, shops and big sights. Take it easy with a classy beach break in Brighton! The place to be seen for Melbourne’s elite, the vibe is totally chilled and the views downright gorgeous. Home to those iconic colourful bathing boxes and plenty of cosmopolitan cafes, come and check it all out with one of our apartments or hotels in Brighton!

Sun, sand, ocean

If you don’t like the beach, then you probably shouldn’t come here. Just sayin’! Because lazing in the sun, swimming in the beautiful bay and long beach strolls are what it’s all about. And it’s practically impossible to leave without a photo of the rainbow-coloured changing and storage boxes lining Dendy Street Beach. The views from here stretch all the way back over the city. Another way to take it all in is to walk or ride the winding path that follows the coastline – the Bay Trail – which goes all the way from Dromana to Sorrento. Also don’t miss the Middle Brighton Pier and Breakwater, the Royal Brighton Yacht Club or the Middle Brighton Municipal Baths, one of the only remaining caged open water seabaths in Australia!

Other local delights

Okay, so it’s not allllll about the beach! The local architecture is pretty and historic, and even just admiring the multi-million dollar homes around here is fun. The local foodie scene is buzzing too, even if just for a chilled-out latte. Church Street is the main spot, with a fine mix of boutiques, jewellery shops, delis and great dining, while Bay Street in North Brighton also has cafes, restaurants and fashion and gift shops. Rather a picnic by the beach or in one of the many beautiful gardens around Brighton? Get your goods at Martin Street.
